Up the Beach
I got to experience the perfect fall day as I drove up Vista Del Playa from Manhattan Beach to Westchester today at noon. The air was crisp and the sun shined down leaving it warm enough to be dressed in my Reggie and the Full Effect t-shirt.
The ocean was a perfect deep blue for the first time in months. There were billowing white thunderclouds off in the distance. If I had my camera with me, I would've pulled off to the side of the road to take pictures. I might've even snapped one of the man who was sitting in the back of his red Jeep Grand Cherokee playing the trumpet.
It's amazing how you never really realize how dirty the air usually is until the day comes when the smog is gone and you can see the hotels along Ocean Blvd. in Santa Monica, clear on up past Malibu. Fifteen miles in Southern California never seemed shorter than it did today.
