Let's Get It On!!!

The Reggie & The Full Effect show last night was frickin' radical. James came out in a Paco Feldman get-up, and so did the entire back up band! All of them in red suits with black wigs. So awesome. Hungary Bear was there too, throwing shirts into the crowd and occasionally stage diving. Maximally entertaining and one of the funnest shows ever. They even covered "Raining Blood"! After Reggie finished, Fluxuation and Common Denominator came out and played some songs. Seriously -- could it get any better than when Fluxuation climbed into the crowd and sang while standing on the chairs right in front of me? No. No, it could not.

I don't know what was up with Wednesday, but it was a crazy LA day. Of course, by now y'all know about the old guy who drove through the Santa Monica farmer's market. But I didn't find out about that until the next morning, because on my way home from work I drove past a car accident on La Cienega and it turned out my friend Heather was involved in it. She got rear ended, so I stopped to check things out. I ended up staying for an hour and a half and then drove her home. I was starving and grumpy when I got home and then we left for the Trachtenburg show at the Derby and the Derby is a sucky place to see a concert. It was hot and crowded, and you couldn't really see the slides because the stage was too low. But it was their last show in LA and they were super enough to get us on the list and everyone feels special when they're on the list!

So anyways, the first thing I noticed on Wednesday was how there was just so much traffic everywhere. Every direction on every road and freeway was just packed with cars. It was quite unusual, even for Los Angeles. I guess there was just something weird with the planets' alignment that day.

Well, more concerts abound tonight. This time it's Jay Farrar at the Roxy. Others in the near future include Hem (8/5), The New Amsterdams (8/29), Mates of State (10/11) and maybe The Jealous Sound in there somewhere, too.
