Your Racist Show
My pet peeve of the week is people who drive really slow in the carpool lane. Like if traffic is going 65 mph outside of the carpool lane, so is one fool in the carpool lane even thought there is no one in front of him for two miles. Which defeats the purpose of having the carpool lane in the first place. You see, if you have two or more people in your car (which is an oddity in Southern California for sure) you get to go in carpool lane where you in theory get to drive faster than everyone else. Which is where the problem sets in when people just go as fast as all the eco-rapists driving solo. All I want is for people to drive as fast as humanly possible in the carpool lane. Is that too much to ask for?
We were at the beach yesterday for something like five hours. I have never been in the sun for that long before, not even the time I went to the beach and didn't put on sunscreen and then my back sunburned really bad, to the point where my skin got crispy and fell off. I avoided such an unpleasant experience by reapplying sunscreen like I've never reapplied before. And it paid off, in a way. Whilst I did not get burned, I hardly tanned either. Well, my Farmer Tan has blended more into a Pseudo Farmer Tan which still kinda sucks if you think about it because I was hoping that I wouldn't have any sort of Farmer Tan at all after being outside all day.
I am addicted to the World Poker Tour on Travel Channel. Why it airs on that channel is beyond me, but between this show and Great Hotels I can't get enough of Channel 71. I guess it's the strategy involved with betting and the unpredictableness of the hands that are dealt. I just can't get enough.
Holy moley! Did you see that new Fox show "Banzai"??? It premiered like six hours ago (on the East Coast) and the boards for the show are already teeming with accusations of racism and talks of boycotting Fox. Go militant Asians. Come to think of it, there's nothing on Fox that I really watch so a boycott wouldn't be all that difficult to to take part in. Except 24. I got hooked on that show last year. Personally, I thought Banzai was neither racist nor lame. I can't say it was funny, either. I only really enjoyed the Old Lady Wheelchair Chicken sketch. And the thought of betting on the show kinda turned me on, but only because watching so much World Poker Tour has turned me into a weird gambling addict.
Oh, and for those of you who don't check diaries on the weekend, I updated on Friday. Can you believe it? I'm a writing machine.
